Good shop bought hummus is expensive, buy your own for about 50p 👌
1 tin chickpeas
1 tsp tahini/nut butter
I tsp chilli powder/sauce
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp paprika
1 garlic clove/ tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp salt and pepper
1. (Optional) drain chickpeas and fry in butter/margarine/ olive oil and a few cloves of crushed garlic. This is a delicious side on its own in Spain, but also adds lots of flavour to the hummus
2. Put all ingredients in blender and add more oil to loosen if needed
3. Taste and add more of what’s needed, often lemon – more is more here
4. Garnish with parsley, olive oil, sesame seeds or more paprika, and serve
